New technologies in agriculture. 

There were several emerging technologies in agriculture that were showing promise in increasing productivity, efficiency, and sustainability.


Precision Agriculture: Precision agriculture involves using technologies such as GPS, drones, sensors, and data analytics to optimize agricultural practices. Farmers can gather real-time information about their fields, enabling them to make informed decisions about irrigation, fertilization, and pest control, leading to better resource management and increased yields.

Internet of Things (IoT) in Agriculture: IoT devices are being deployed in agriculture to monitor various factors like soil moisture, temperature, humidity, and crop health. These interconnected devices can transmit data to farmers, helping them to manage their crops more efficiently and precisely.

Drone Technology in agriculture: a drone is a flying robot that can be remotely controlled or fly autonomously using software -controlled flight plans in its embedded systems, that work in conjunction with onboard sensors and a global positioning system (GPS).

The use of drone in agriculture is helpful to farmers as it have some distinct advantages such as high field capacity and efficiency, less turnaround time and other field operational delays, wastage reduction of pesticide and fertilizers due to high degree of atomization, water saving due to ultra-low volume spraying. 

Vertical Farming: Vertical farming is a method of growing crops in stacked layers or vertically inclined surfaces. This approach reduces the need for land and allows for year-round production, independent of climate and weather conditions. LED lighting and hydroponic/aquaponic systems are often used to support growth in vertical farms.


Agricultural Robotics: Robotics is revolutionizing agriculture by automating labor-intensive tasks such as planting, harvesting, and weeding. Robots equipped with computer vision and AI can identify and treat individual plants or perform repetitive tasks, reducing the reliance on manual labor.


AI and Machine Learning: Artificial intelligence and machine learning are increasingly being applied in agriculture to analyze large datasets, predict weather patterns, optimize crop selection, and develop precise crop management plans. These technologies help farmers make data-driven decisions for better outcomes.

These GMOs aim to increase crop yields and reduce the need for chemical inputs.
